MGS acquires Knudsen Plast 

MGS, announced the acquisition of Knudsen Plast A/S.

The deal brings the Germantown, WI–based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) expanded cleanroom capacity at facilities in Denmark and Slovakia.

MGS provides medical product design and development services, high‑cavitation tooling, automation, and high‑volume precision manufacturing across 13 global locations.

A win for both companies

Knudsen Plast is equipped with almost 100 injection molding machines ranging in size from 25 to 500 tons across its two plants. A Class 8 cleanroom is installed at the Slovakia plant, and it has a Class 7 cleanroom in Denmark, the largest in the country, according to the company. Additional capabilities include assembly, automated production, tampon printing, and ultrasonic welding.

An appetite for Danish
MGS seems to have a sweet tooth for Danish companies.

In October 2023, it acquired Danish tooling manufacturer Winther Mould Technology A/S, a company with 56 years of experience in design for manufacturing, mold design and manufacturing, and testing and validation.

Earlier that same year in June, MGS bought Technolution, which provides R&D, regulatory compliance, and quality and project management services to the medtech and pharmaceutical sectors.

MGS now employs more than 1,600 people at facilities in the United States, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Mexico, and Costa Rica. PlasticsToday
