Madhya Pradesh approves Rs 17,059 crore to boost healthcare
The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet approved a series of major welfare, healthcare and governance measures involving an outlay of Rs 21,485 crore, including a landmark decision to waive stamp duty and registration fees for property rights records issued under the Swamitva scheme.
The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the state secretariat.
The Cabinet approved the Swamitva Rights Record Execution and Registration Scheme-2026, waiving stamp duty and registration fees on property rights records issued under the Swamitva programme. The state government will bear the estimated cost of Rs 3,800 crore.
Briefing reporters on the Cabinet decisions, MSME minister Chaitanya Kashyap said over 68.11 lakh rights records, including 48.32 lakh private properties, have been created under the scheme through drone surveys, enabling rural residents to access loans for housing, agriculture and business activities.
The Cabinet approved Rs 17,059 crore to strengthen healthcare and medical education, including funding for government medical colleges, expansion of MBBS and postgraduate seats, and construction of new medical colleges in Ujjain, Seoni, Chhatarpur, Damoh and Budni.
The minister said the investments would improve access to healthcare services while addressing the shortage of medical professionals across urban and rural areas.
The Cabinet also approved ordinances to amend the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Gram Swaraj Act, 1993, and the Madhya Pradesh Upkar Act, 1981.
The Cabinet approved a tender-based system for supplying two sets of stitched uniforms to students of Classes I to VIII in government schools from the 2026-27 academic session.
The Cabinet approved a revised cost of Rs 626.61 crore for the under-construction district court complex at Pipliyahana in Indore, up from Rs 411.01 crore.
The Cabinet ratified the state’s decision to grant SGST exemption to the Hindi films Tanvi The Great and Shatak: Sangh Ke 100 Varsh during their exhibition in Madhya Pradesh.
