India sends vaccines, medical supplies to Maldives
India has dispatched a consignment of 20 thousand doses of measles vaccines and approximately three tonnes of medical supplies to support the Government of Maldives in strengthening immunization coverage and safeguarding public health. External Affairs Ministry said in a statement that this timely assistance will help address the increasing cases of measles in Maldives and reinforce the response efforts of the Government.
Our correspondent reports that Maldives enjoys a special place in India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and Vision MAHASAGAR. India, as a trusted First Responder, remains committed to working closely with the Government of Maldives in advancing shared priorities and for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
