Telangana asks healthcare providers to adhere to CEA standards

Telangana State Public Health Director Dr N Ravinder Nayak underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among healthcare professionals and institutions to ensure high-quality medical services for all.

He was speaking at the Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (THANA) conference, THANACON 2024, held at the HICC in Madhapur on Sunday.

In his address, Dr Nayak highlighted the need for healthcare providers to adhere to minimum standards of care as outlined in the Clinical Establishment Act. He emphasized that the Act aims to foster a supportive and trustworthy environment for patients without imposing undue burdens on healthcare facilities.

“We must provide the best possible infrastructure, uphold professional standards, and make patients feel confident and respected in our facilities,” he said. Dr Nayak noted Telangana’s growth as a medical tourism hub, attributing this to the combined efforts of government and private healthcare sectors over the years.

Calling for a united approach, Dr Nayak urged public and private health institutions to proactively address challenges to raise healthcare standards across the state. He reiterated the government’s commitment to assisting healthcare providers, encouraging open dialogue between officials and associations like THANA to resolve any issues.

THANA State President Dr V S. Rao and General Secretary Dr Prasad shared that more than 500 doctors from across Telangana attended the conference, with healthcare experts from around the country leading panel discussions and scientific sessions.

Conference highlights included comprehensive solutions for the challenges faced by nursing homes and hospitals, along with discussions on consumer forum cases, the sustainability of small hospitals, and the implementation of the Aarogya Sri scheme.

The convention also emphasized improving the quality of healthcare through National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) accreditation.

National and international companies dealing in hospital inventories, management software, equipment, manpower management, and outsourcing also participated in the convention.

Notable attendees included Organizing Committee Secretary Dr Naunihal, Co-Chairman Dr L Suresh Goud, National Elect President of the Indian Medical Association Dr Dilip Bhanushali, IMA Telangana State President Dr Kali Prasad, and Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajigiri District DMHOs Venkateswara Rao and Dr Raghanadha Swamy.
