Sleep apnea monitor-maker Itamar Medical buys up Spry Health

Itamar Medical, a developer of sleep apnea monitoring devices, has purchased Spry Health for an undisclosed amount.

Itamar’s acquisition nets it Spry’s FDA-cleared remote wrist monitor. The product will be further developed as a continuous sleep apnea monitor designed to help manage chronic conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, said Itamar CEO Gilad Glick.

Spry’s wrist monitor may be less accurate than precise disease diagnostics but is more suited for continuous monitoring of sleep apnea and its longer-term effect on other diseases, such as heart conditions, Glick said. – WCG FDA News
