Medical Reps demand waiver of GST on medicines

Andhra Pradesh medical representatives union has demanded the government to waive GST on medicines and medical equipment and earmark funds at five percent of GDP for governments medical and health sectors.

They also demanded scrapping of four labour codes brought out by the central government and also fixed Rs 26,000 as the minimum wage for them. Union state treasurer Dumpala Prasad while releasing the poster relating to the union’s 38 state conference at a function held here on Wednesday said that twenty delegates would be attending the conference from the district.

He said the conference among other things would reiterate its demand for effective implementation of the sales promotion employees act of 1976, bring down the prices of medicines within the reach of the common people and revive the public sector Pharma companies.

Union leaders Varma, Charan, Swamy, Satish, Naresh, Murali and CITU city unit president Palivela Virababu were among those who attended. United News of India
