Kerala to set up emergency trauma care facilities in all hospitals

The State government is actively considering a plan to ensure emergency trauma care and accident treatment facilities across all government hospitals in the State, Minister for Forests, Wildlife Protection, Skill Development and Cashew Industry, Shibu Baby John, said. He was inaugurating the newly established dialysis unit at the Neendakara taluk hospital.

The Minister added that the ongoing healthcare infrastructure development projects in the district will be completed within a strict, time-bound schedule. “The future expansion of the Neendakara hospital will be fast-tracked. Currently equipped with seven dialysis machines, the government aims to collaborate with the private sector to provide entirely free dialysis treatments. Furthermore, steps will be taken to recruit additional staff to ensure the dialysis unit operates efficiently on a shift basis,” he said. N.K. Named the ‘Snehasmrithi Dialysis Centre,’ the facility is dedicated to the memory of Alin Sherin, the State’s youngest organ donor. The project was completed at an estimated cost of ₹1 crore, funded entirely by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund of Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL), in collaboration with the Chavara block panchayat.
