Indore: 24-hour emergency, surgery at PC Sethi Hospital soon

Government PC Sethi Hospital will soon start a 24-hour emergency medical facility along with starting a surgery department, as well. The hospital has applied for National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certification and starting new facilities under the compliance for being eligible for the national certification.

According to hospital-in-charge Dr Nikhil Oza, the hospital has applied for NQAS assessment and is working to set up new facilities to get the certification without any issues.

“We’re excited at being the city’s first hospital to get a ‘Platinum Badge’ in the LaQshya programme. We’ve already qualified for the State Quality Assurance Certification (SQAS) and have now applied for NQAS, as well. We’ve marked a place to run the emergency unit in which doctors and nursing staff will be deployed for 24 hours,” Oza told the media. He added that the hospital had also got two post-graduate medical officers of surgery with which they will set up the department which is mandatory for NQAS.

Meanwhile, internal assessor for NQAS Dr Jyoti Simlot said, “Assessment for NQAS will be done any time this month or the coming month. We’re ready for the assessment and believe that PC Sethi Hospital will become the first hospital to get the national certification in the city.”

The assessment will include quality assurance of all departments, a nursing facility, patient satisfaction, waste management and others. Free Press Journal
