Decks cleared for Guruvayur hospital; Mukesh Ambani pledges ₹56 crore
The technical ambiguity over the super specialty hospital of the Guruvayur Devaswom was cleared finally with the State Government giving a green signal for its construction.
Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan will lay the foundation stone on July 30. Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), has pledged Rs 56 crore towards the construction of the hospital.
The hospital will come up on two and a half acres to the south of the existing Devaswom Medical Centre. A four-storey building will have an area of 1 lakh square feet.
The plan of the super specialty hospital is prepared by the Kanhangad-based firm Damodaran Architect. It was promised by the firm in September 2022. The layout of the hospital was given to them.
With the obstacles to the construction of the hospital having been removed, the information will be passed on to the Ambani group which in turn will release the amount it has promised to pay. This amount is only for the construction of the hospital building. The remaining amount will be spent by the Devaswom.
The Devaswom itself will supervise the functioning of the hospital. Mathrubhumi English
