CII UP Health Summit 2024 kicks off first health training session at NIU

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) U.P. Health Summit 2024 commenced its first health training session today at the Noida International University (NIU) Auditorium. This event, organized in association with NIU, brought together leading professionals, academia, and future medical practitioners to discuss the evolving landscape of healthcare with a focus on digital health and mental wellness where more than 250 students were present.

Dr Upasana Arora, Vice-chairperson of CII UP State, Convenor of the CII UP Healthcare Panel, and Managing Director of Yashoda Super Specialty Hospitals Pvt. Ltd, commenced the session with her welcome remarks. She emphasized the importance of shaping Uttar Pradesh into “Uttam Pradesh,” positioning every student as a brand ambassador of healthcare excellence with the support of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH). Dr Arora highlighted the significance of digital health and mental health in the realms of social, financial, and personal well-being, setting the tone for the event.

Dr Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman of Noida International University, shared his thoughts on the critical role of academia in advancing healthcare. He noted that this summit represents the ongoing advancements in the healthcare industry, stressing the need for resilience and innovation. Dr Singh underscored the importance of mental health, a frequently neglected area, and emphasized how telemedicine and digital health have made healthcare more accessible and advanced. He called for academia to continue playing a pivotal role in this transformation.

Dr Vikram Singh, Chancellor of Noida International University, in his keynote address warmly welcomed all the guests. He also praised Dr Sangeeta Sharma, Professor, Neuropsychopharmacology, Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences(IHBAS) & President, Delhi Society for Promotion of Rational Use of Drugs (DSPRUD) and said, a lecture by Dr Sangeeta is equal to an entire semester’s worth of learning, underscoring the value of the insights to be shared. Dr Singh referenced recent reports indicating a 13% increase in mental health issues and stressed that true happiness and mental peace come at a cost. He urged students to be patient listeners and active participants in the session.

Dr Atul Mohan Kochhar, Chief Executive Officer of NABH, addressed the gathering as the Chief Guest. He welcomed the future doctors in attendance and highlighted NABH’s objective of improving the quality of healthcare across India by 2047, aligning with the vision of a “Viksit Bharat 2047.” Dr Kochhar explained that NABH, an autonomous body established in 2005, is responsible for drafting quality standards for hospitals. He also touched on the importance of nurturing mental health amidst the often depressing news in today’s world, stressing the need for healthcare professionals to maintain their own well-being while serving others.

Dr D.K. Gupta, Chairman & Director of Felix Hospitals, Noida, concluded the session with his remarks, emphasizing the transformative power of digital health in the healthcare industry. He highlighted the need for rapid digitalization to sustain healthcare advancements and mentioned key components of digital health, including the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Health Facility Registry (HFR), Health Professional Registry (HPR), and the importance of interoperability. Dr Gupta also discussed emerging technologies such as HMS, EMR, RPA, BPA, IoT, AR, VR, AI, and robotics, which are crucial for the future of healthcare.

The session ended with a collective commitment to continue advancing healthcare standards in Uttar Pradesh and beyond, ensuring that future generations of doctors are well-equipped to meet the challenges of an ever-evolving industry. India Education Diary
