Budget 2024: AIIMS gets highest allocation of ₹4523 crore

Department of Health and Family Welfare got a total budget allocation of INR 87656.90 as against INR 86175.00 last year. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi is allocated a budget of INR 4523.00 cores as compared to last year’s allocation of INR 4134.67 crores. It has been set up by an Act of Parliament in 1956 as a premier institution to conduct experiments and research on various disciplines of medical services. Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Opthalmic Sciences is attached to it.

Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh allocated a budget of INR 2200.00 crores as compared to the INR 1923.10 cores allocated last year. The medical institute was set up by an Act of Parliament as an Institute of National Importance having the same functions as AIIMS, New Delhi, but in the field of post-graduate medical education. The Institute is wholly financed by the Central Govt. and is a centre for medical education research and specialized hospital services.

Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry sees a decrease in allocation with INR 1440.00 crores allocated against INR 1490.43 crores last year.

Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, New Delhi get INR 1834.00 crores as compared to INR 1853.34 crores last year, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi allocated INR 1610.00 crores against INR 1272.18 crores in last budget, Lady Hardinge Medical College and Smt.
