AHNA issues legal notice to Tata AIG for delisting 81 hospitals

The Ahmedabad Hospitals & Nursing Homes Association (AHNA) has issued a legal notice to Tata AIG Insurance Company for delisting 81 hospitals in Ahmedabad without providing valid reasons or an opportunity for these hospitals to defend themselves. The names of these delisted hospitals were posted on the insurance company’s website.

In response, AHNA has decided to boycott Tata AIG starting July 15, 2024, unless the insurance company revokes the delisting. This means cashless or reimbursement facilities will not be available to Tata AIG policyholders in AHNA-affiliated hospitals. AHNA has advised Tata AIG policyholders to take note of this and take appropriate actions to protect their interests.

AHNA President Dr Bharat Gadhavi said, “Tata AIG General Insurance Co has arbitrarily decided to delist 81 hospitals in Ahmedabad. Around 50 percent of these hospitals are members of our association. We have taken strong objection to this unjust and arbitrary act of Tata AIG and have issued a legal notice to them through our counsel.”

According to AHNA, when association and hospital representatives tried to contact the insurance company officials, they received irresponsible answers. A letter sent by AHNA did not elicit any response from the insurance company, leading to the decision to send a legal notice.
