"The state government should provide required land for setting up medical college, hospitals, educational institution, drinking water projects and improvement of drainage system in Paradip. We do not want to acquire land from farmers. The proposed project will come up on government land, adding that people in and around the port town would get better healthcare facilities once the medical college and hospital comes up in their area."

Nitin Gadkari,
Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport and National Highway,
Government of India

The central government is committed to take all possible steps for development of Paradip port and has decided to set up a medical college and a super-specialty hospital here for the poor, workers, and other needy people.

The Southern Oil Jetty has been constructed at a cost of 811 crore to cater to requirements of the oil-refinery project of IOCL. It will enable Paradip Oil Refinery to import crude oil and export of products. Over 212 vessels can be loaded from the South Jetty per year.
