The state-run district Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru has been upgraded by the state administration to a regional hospital from this year and has released 10 crore for infrastructural development. The upgraded hospital will have additional 200 beds that will make it a 1000 bed hospital. The engineering division is in the process of constructing an additional building.

Ayush department has submitted a proposal for a plot in Wenlock Hospital for a 50 bed composite hospital, while the plot lying vacant in front of logistics at the hospital was earmarked for this purpose.

The pediatric hospital in RAPCC will be upgraded just like Indira Gandhi Children's Health Centre, Bengaluru, and the state administration has released 3 crore for this purpose. Out of 3 crore, 1 crore will be utilized to buy equipment, and 2 crore for building, medicines, consumables, and maintenance expenses.
