A section of the Health Department staff affiliated to the All-India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), the trade union wing of the CPI, has raised objections to the proposed health policy of the State government.

The State committee of the Kerala State Health Inspectors’ Federation demanded in a press release here on Monday that the policy be implemented only after addressing concerns raised by trade unions representing the staff.

K. Remjith, State secretary of the federation, said it had submitted the suggestions at a meeting chaired by B. Ikbal in Kozhikode in October 2016. The proposed draft of the policy does not have any of the suggestions put forth by the federation, he claimed.

The federation is affiliated to the Joint Council of State Service Organizations, a wing of the AITUC. – The Hindu
