Under the Centrally sponsored scheme of National AYUSH Mission, a 50-bedded integrated AYUSH hospital was approved in Visakhapatnam during 2016-17 for which an amount of Rs 168.75 lakh was sanctioned till date to the State.

Further, Rs 228.25 lakh was sanctioned for another 50-bedded integrated AYUSH hospital approved in Kakinada during 2014- 15. This was stated by Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik in response to a query posed by MP Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Responding to another question, Naik said the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Centre was functioning in Visakhapatnam since January 2017 and Pradhama hospital in the city had been empanelled under the CGHS from December 27, 2017.

Central government pensioners and their dependents residing in neighboring districts of Vizag have the option to avail CGHS facilities from the CGHS Wellness Centre and the empanelled hospitals for cashless treatment as per the terms and conditions of the empanelment. – The Hindu
